What It Is

A frizz-fighting styling cream

What It Does

It takes frizz-fighting to a whole new level. The brainchild of Robert Langer (the founder of MIT's biomedical engineering lab, Langer Lab), it contains polyfluoroester, an ingredient that plugs the gaps in each strand's cuticle like spackle, in lieu of silicone, which sits on the surface of hair, weighing it down.

HOW IT FEELS/SMELLS/LOOKS:

It's a light lotion with a musky lemon scent.

WHY WE LIKE IT:

We were a bit skeptical when we read the instructions: "Apply to damp hair until saturated. Don't worry. You really can't use too much." But we obeyed the orders and globbed about three times more of the cream on our wavy, frizz-prone hair than we would normally use. Right away, our hair was devoid of fuzz—and it stayed that way for hours. The one negative: It's a bit crunchy unless you carefully comb the product all the way through from roots to ends.
