Last summer, I was asked to do my friend’s makeup for a performance she had in Los Angeles, and I had to do so without any makeup brushes (it's a long story). Ever since then, I’ve cherished my tools like they are my children. Sure, I can swipe on eye shadow, dab on concealer, and slather on foundation with my fingers in a pinch. But nothing truly compares to the blending abilities of my beloved Nyx Pro Powder Brush. Its synthetic bristles, which are as soft as a puppy’s ears, create a seamless finish that my 10 digits just can't.
The metal that connects the bristles to the handle of the Nyx Pro Powder Brush is pinched inward to give the brush an oval shape. This is essential for concentrating color or shimmer of blush or highlighter onto the areas of the cheeks you specifically want them. You can also use this brush to give foundation, concealer, and contouring products one last sweep so that everything looks perfectly airbrushed and streak-free.
I also reach for this brush to apply setting powder. Instead of applying the product all over and risk making my complexion looking flat and cakey, I target the area around my nose, as well as the center of my chin and forehead. By focusing my mattifying powder, my skin ends up having a more dimensional glow.
Luckily, my friend ended up looking amazing on stage, but I couldn't help but wonder while she was singing what her makeup would have looked like with the help of the Nyx Pro Powder Brush.
