HOW IT LOOKS/FEELS:
The compact is tiny (one-inch-by-one-inch) and can link to the 30 other shades in the ShadowLinks collection if you want to make a custom eye-shadow palette. (The shadows connect by sliding the compacts into grooves along the sides of the shadows and snapping into place—eye-shadow Legos, if you will.) The neutral matte shade goes on sheer and has a chalky texture.
WHY WE LIKE IT:
This gray-beige shadow is more like taupe. The zero-shimmer powder goes on very, very (very) sheer. It's almost like a primer: A light dusting on the lids creates a neutral base and the texture soaks up any shine so your shadow won't crease. But if you're looking for intense color, look elsewhere.
