Here are my honest thoughts.

Welcome to "Try It," a series in which Allure editors show you how they like to use some of their new favorite beauty products. This week, assistant beauty editor Angela Trakoshis gives Anastasia Beverly Hills' first mascara a try.

Once upon a time, I would go every two weeks to refill my eyelash extensions. I was obsessed — but my wallet was not, and neither were my natural lashes. They turned frail and brittle and almost nonexistent. So I decided to stop and return to using mascara every day. It was a long, dark road to find "the one," but folks, I think we found it — and it's Anastasia Beverly Hills' very first mascara.

The official name of the product is the Lash Brag Volumizing Mascara, which is appropriate given that it definitely makes your lashes something to brag about. First, let's break down the formula: Ultra-creamy and long-lasting, it includes conditioning agents that help smooth and softens lashes while you use it. The formula is also water-resistant, which is great because I find waterproof mascaras are nearly impossible to remove.

Now, the wand. Through testing a bunch of different mascaras, I noticed that wand shape matters — a lot. From my findings, I've realized that hourglass-shaped applicators are ideal for getting every single lash, which is exactly how the Lash Brag wand is designed.

According to Anastasia Beverly Hills' announcement, there are three ways to wear — or as the brand puts it, brag — this mascara. You can "brag a little" with one single coat that will deposite the perfect amount of product for lengthening your lashes, you can "brag a lot" by applying two coats to make your lashes thick and long, or you can have "total bragging rights" by giving your lashes extreme volume with three coats of the mascara.

I decided to "brag a little" for my first try. I applied one coat of the formula to my clean lashes, and I was beyond impressed. The formula latched on to each of my lashes, extending them but not clumping them (which I find happens with a lot of super-pigmented mascaras). My eyes appeared bigger, and my lashes were full of volume and length but still felt so light and comfortable. Next time, I am going to go all out with "total bragging rights" to see what this mascara can really do.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Lash Brag Volumizing Mascara is available full-size version for $24 and a mini version for $13 on anastasiabeverlyhills.com.
