For years, makeup artist Danessa Myricks has been traveling all across the world to teach other artists how to achieve the dreamiest, most luminous skin on their clients, as well as how to add imaginative additions of color to looks. Now that she's having to sit still and put her in-person classes on pause, she's about to make her expertise more accessible for everyone

Not only is Myricks going to offer free virtual masterclasses with Danessa Myricks University but she's also expanding her beloved, inclusive line of multi-use products. The newest shades of Danessa Myricks Beauty's Colorfix, Prism FX Hydrating Lotion, and Illuminating Veil drop today, September 12, and Myricks gave Allure exclusive details on all 10 of the latest hues and how to easily use them like a pro.

In all of my favorite makeup artists' kits, I've spotted the Colorfix 24-Hour Cream Colors. They never just have one — over a dozen are always available at all times. I, too, have fallen in love with their opaque, streak-free, intensely pigmented, and waterproof formula for adding color to my face. The tiny, hygienic tube is a liner, blush, lipstick, and eye shadow all in one. Right now, it comes in neutrals, brights, and metallics, but neons are finally a part of the wide shade range.

The pandemic is causing the beauty world to change rapidly as people are more inspired than ever to add new, adventurous makeup to their beauty routine, Myricks tells Allure. "Colors that were once reserved for the daring and bold are now becoming more palatable for even the more conservative beauty consumer," she adds. After noticing not only this but also an uptick in demand for the brand's Waterproof Vivid Palette and Waterproof Cushion Colors in electric hues, she decided the beloved Colorfix deserved a neon moment

Among the six shades are a vibrant tangerine, shocking pink, neon grape. Myricks picked these in particular because they're easy for every complexion to pull off. And of course, she added a highlighter yellow called UFO to the lineup because "it wouldn't be a neon collection without [it]," Myricks says.

Among the myriad of ways to use the cream formula, Myricks loves brushing them on to create accents of color, like dashes and dots, around the eyes, with an otherwise neutral look. "A floating neon cut crease over a matte smoky eye is an unexpected head-turner," she says. Myricks also suggests buffing one of the shades onto your cheeks and layering highlighter on top to create a unicorn-like effect.

Consider the Prism FX Hydration Lotion a complexion pick-me-up, Myricks says. The liquid is flecked with microfine pearls and spiked with hydrating squalene and vitamin E to give skin a brightening and hydrating boost. "Prism FX is ideal for no-makeup makeup wearers who want to liven up their complexion without the need for any additional makeup," she adds.

It first launched in a pink-toned shade called Original, which illuminates fair skin tones "or dials down any dullness in medium skin tones," Myricks explains. For deeper skin tones, Prism Peach was also available. Now, Golden, which has a subtle gilded shimmer to it, rounds out the range as a universally flattering option. You can slather it on as a primer, mix it into your foundation to give it a hint of golden dewiness, or tap it onto the high points of your face for a natural-looking highlight.

While the Prism FX Hydrating Lotion gives skin a subtle sheen, the Illuminating Veil takes glow levels up to blinding, holographic, glass-like proportions. Myricks says she includes it in almost every makeup application she does on her clients — it's that major. Her favorite way to layer it is under foundation (but it can go on top, too). "This option is especially great for anyone who doesn't want to amplify their textured skin but wants to capitalize on the glow trend," she explains.

The current color selection is more in the neutral range, but Myricks came up with fresh, fun hues to choose from. I'm most excited about the pearlescent pink shade called Paradise. On my fair skin, it looks transparent, but when the light hits it, it flashes an ethereal bubblegum hue. Starlight, another new addition, has the same vibe just with a blue-green shift. I also like to blend them onto my lids.

Temptest is also joining the roster of radiant hues as one of the deepest highlighters I've ever seen on the market. "It's a rich chocolate-brown shade perfect for deeper skin tones," Myricks explains. "It's more neutral than our copper shade, Desire, and a deeper, warmer option compared to Queen [cool-toned chocolate brown]."

Now excuse me while I create graphic neon liner looks and dolphin skin with my new makeup bag staples. You can shop all 10 of the new products now on danessamyricksbeauty.com
