Welcome to October, Gemini! At the end of September, you felt inspired and motivated. Whether you're prioritizing getting involved in local activist groups, beginning a new creative endeavor, or focusing on yourself after a very stressful few months, a full moon in bold Aries on Thursday, October 1 puts some extra oomph behind your mission.

The last Mercury retrograde of the year starts on Tuesday, October 13, and runs through Tuesday, November 3 (which is also Election Day). Mercury is your ruling planet, so as always it may affect you more than others. This may also impact the election; there might be delays tallying votes, as well as confusing comments from candidates and news outlets alike. Luckily, this Mercury retrograde is in Scorpio, the detective of the zodiac. Secrets of all kinds may be revealed, so try and keep a cool head as you sort through information.

Your love life levels up during the new moon in Libra, the sign of partnerships, on Friday, October 16. Despite how chatty you naturally are, Gemini, truly opening up about your emotions can be hard. You're better at playing the field than talking about your feelings. But it's been a tough year and you're ready to bond with a romantic interest. Let your guard down and use this lunation to be vulnerable with someone you care about. It will likely be well-received.

Scorpio season begins on Thursday, October 22. Known for being obsessive and sexual, this sign is as controversial as yours. But you love the intensity of Scorpio season, which can be excellent for your sex life. Just remember that there's still a pandemic. Use your love of conversation to discuss safe dates, exposure risks, and COVID-19 testing before you move forward with any new physical relationships.

Then get ready to shine on Halloween, which coincides with a full moon in sensual Taurus on Saturday, October 31.  Because crowded parties are out of the question, take a page from this sign's book and stay in with a roommate or try Netflix Party with a friend. Don't forget the snacks. And, of course, you can dress up, regardless. Have fun, stay safe, and we'll see you in November.

We know many of you may be feeling worried, frightened, or isolated right now. Although the stars don't have answers to the multitude of questions running through all of our minds, astrology may at least provide some comfort during times of uncertainty. We urge you to donate to one or all of these organizations if you're able to. If you can't, we created a guide to ways you can support the BLM movement other than financially.
